All of our teams have important fixtures this coming weekend. Our first team lost narrowly last Sunday at home to Longford RFC but did pick up a valuable losing bonus point. Our seconds had a good victory over the same club and are still in contention for league honours. Unfortunately the Women’s game on the same day had to be cancelled as the top pitch was too hard with frost and was deemed unsafe.
On Saturday (13th Jan) next our Third team resume their Metro League with an away game in DCU Sports Complex at 2.00pm against the league leaders AIB. We are only three points off the lead so a win here would set our guys up for remainder of the season .
On Sunday 14th, our Women’s team travel to Wicklow in search of some points. The coaches are very proud of the efforts to date this season especially with the influx of new players. kick off in Wicklow is at 1.00pm.
Also on Sunday our Firsts and Seconds are away to fellow League 1B strugglers, Portlaoise RFC. This is a vital game that requires 100% effort by our Firsts to get the season back on track. Small margins have cost us a lot this season . This is very evident when we see that six of our losses were all within one score. Notably our two games against the League leaders, Suttonians RFC gained us four losing points, so we are not too far off their standard in spite of variance in League placing.
The Under age teams resume training this weekend and we wish all our players a enjoyable and successful 2018.
