Captains Message Season 21/22

I am extremely proud and honoured to be elected as Club Captain of Clondalkin Rugby Club for a second time. It is a privilege to captain such a great team and I look forward to both leading and representing the club over the coming season. Since joining the club, I have been made part of the family which is one of the club’s greatest qualities.

Firstly, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all players, management, officials and supporters to Clondalkin Rugby Club for the 2021-22 season. To all of our new members, we welcome you and look forward to seeing you in the club.

As a club, we have worked tirelessly and achieved some great success in recent years. To see how much the club has grown and evolved over these years is testament to all the great work done by so many of our members and volunteers at every level. I know many of our members have had difficult times during the last year and we hope the club can bring something positive to their lives.

There is huge excitement within the senior squad ahead of the new season and the challenges we will face in the Leinster League Division 1B and other competitions. We are really looking forward to being back playing matches and competing on the pitch again. We also aim to make an impact off the pitch and get involved wherever possible. I would like to wish the women’s, underage and all other teams every success for the year.

I would like to wish our head coach, Dave Plummer, along with his assistance coaches Paul Nolan and John Nolan & also the management team Winston Jebb, John Stapleton, Conor Steed & Conor Kelly, the best of luck for the season ahead.

I would like to congratulate my vice-captains David Jebb & Thomas Ankers and we will work together for a successful season.

I look forward to collaborating again with the second team captain Eoin Delaney to drive the club forward. He dedication on and off the pitch is invaluable to the club.

Additionally, I would like to thank all of our very generous sponsors for their continued support. It allows Clondalkin Rugby Club to compete across all levels and for that we are extremely grateful.

Finally, a sincere thank you to all our loyal supporters who travel to every match day to cheer us on. You have followed us around the country in hail, rain, snow and occasional sunshine, helping us get over the line in many games. Your support cannot be under-estimated and is greatly appreciated by all the squad members. We promise we will do our best to make you proud and give you something to celebrate.
