A message regarding our charity efforts.
It gives me great pride and delight to announce that the Clondalkin RFC auction in support of ARC Cancer Support Centres has raised a grand total of €11,531. This amount was matched in the background, which puts the final donation amount over €23,000. Over the 2 year partnership through 2 auctions, the women’s mini marathon and other endeavours we have donated close to €50,000.
I would like to thank everyone at ARC Cancer Support Centres first and foremost for the services they provide, especially to the family and friends of Niamh Farrelly. I would particularly like to thank Ali for her support and time she gave to us in the club.
To all the members, friends and local businesses who donated items and to everyone who showed up on the day to bid and donate, I cannot put into words how much it is appreciated. Nothing happens without your support, my sincerest heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you. I would also like to thank the members of other clubs who stuck around to support the auction after their games. Each and every year we put on these events and each and every year I am absolutely blown away with the response from our members and friends. The generosity shown this year and every year is unparalleled. This club punches so far above its weight when it comes to these social efforts and every member should take incredible pride in what we do.
This brings to a close the 2 year partnership with ARC as our Charity Partner, which means at the next AGM we will decide who will be our charity partner for the next 2 year cycle. If there are any local causes close to you that you believe are worthy of our support, reach out directly to me with their details to nominate and we will let our members decide ahead of the next season.
