Mark Molloy – An Appreciation

marky

Marky arrived in C.R.F.C in 1974, at the tender age of ten; eager to start playing rugby. Being quite tall and equipped with blistering pace he was fondly referred to as “Colossus”. He excelled in his natural 2nd row position. As the years elapsed; Marky’s distance from the ground, alas, did not. As gravity proved too much for Marky; there was a silver lining in that it lead him to his beloved position of scrum half.

He was a loyal servant, Club Captain twice and winning the player of the year award as well as many medals.

Molly was always a ladies man, so much so he took to coaching the women’s rugby team in order to find that ever elusive wife. Frustrated but optimistic, and with a clenched fist, he leaves the Emerald Isle for Liverpool.

We wish him well in his new role as a foreman; telling much larger men with several years experience how to lay brick even though he’s never seen a cement mixer in real life: Good Luck with That!

We’ll miss you Spartacus! Fair thee well and remember; your cheeky grin is always welcome here.
